If the Church follows the lead of the secular world with this movement, we could begin Advent on the First Sunday of September and have four months instead of four weeks to prepare for the Solemnity of Christmas. I will have to do some calculating to figure out which week would be best to wear the rose colored vestments near the mid-point of the season.
Nothing should surprise me any more, but I was stunned last night to walk into a store and see Christmas displays just inside the front entrance. It is the first week of September. Give me a break!
