I had the pleasure of officiating at the wedding of Alex and Jessica this afternoon, and it was a beautiful day for a celebration such as this. I send my prayerful best wishes with them as they begin their married life together.
Once the wedding was over I realized a couple of things. First of all, I have now presided at a wedding in all three dioceses of Colorado. This was my first wedding in the Archdiocese of Denver, but I had previously celebrated weddings in both the Colorado Springs and Pueblo dioceses. Secondly, this was the first wedding I have celebrated on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. That is a beautiful feast day in which to celebrate one's marriage.
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord!
