40 Days For Life--October 2, 2015

I made the 50 mile trek today from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Fort Collins, Colorado to participate in 40 Days for Life.  Although the dense fog and rain in Cheyenne made me less than eager to get on the road I was determined to make the trip.  Thankfully, it was nearly 60 degrees in Fort Collins and never rained during my 2 hours of vigil.

As we approach "Respect Life Sunday" this experience today reminded me that we have a long way to go in a lot of categories of respecting life.  I held a simple sign that said, "Life Is Beautiful."  I quietly prayed and did not hinder any flow of sidewalk traffic.  What did I get for this (as well as those others who were also present)?  We got flipped off more times than I care to mention. The screaming and cursing that came from car windows was astounding. Many people did not show "tolerance" for our presence on the sidewalk.  Why is that?  On the other hand, the indifference and apathy of most who were passing by spoke louder than the cursing screamers.
