A Visit To Charleston, South Carolina

We finally had an opportunity to visit Charleston just to go sightseeing.  We had one item of business to attend to upon our arrival, but after that we were able to be tourists.  The weather was a little on the cool side (60 degrees) with a bit of a brisk wind at times (a gentle breeze by Wyoming standards).  It was quite nice as we ventured around the city.

The architecture of the buildings can easily capture one's attention.  I marveled at the porches in particular.  It must be quite a treat to sit on the third floor balcony watching the ships pass by out on the ocean.

The carriage rides provide a close up view of the homes at a leisurely pace.  There is something very unique about spending time in the beautiful city of Charleston.  I will share more photos with you over the coming days.

As for me, I need to rehearse my Epiphany homily a few more times in preparation for the two early Masses tomorrow morning.  Thus, I will call it good for the blog and share much more with you later.

My Epiphany message is a simple reminder of what you hear in the first reading.  "Rise up in splendor.  Your light has come.  The glory of the Lord shines upon you."  My dear readers, if the glory of the Lord is shining upon us, it has to impact the way we live our lives.  The reading goes on to say that, "Nations shall walk by your light..."  Let us be sure we are clearly shining a light on the path to holiness and righteousness.
