Congratulations to the following individuals for being selected for ALL-STATE to the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group Speech Festival held at Iowa State University on February 22. (This is their Oscar Night!)

One of the joys of attending a small high school is the opportunity to do many things. Although it has been over forty years since my high school days, I still remember the thrill of being in speech contests and participating in theatrical performances. This was in addition to playing basketball and baseball.
One of my favorite memories is being a 14-year old freshman playing the part of Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird." I had a smaller role in the play, "George Washington Slept Here," but the fun we had with that performance was amazing. Those are memories that last a lifetime. I am happy for the Saint Albert students who are making similar memories in their own journey.
