It was a long day. I left the house just before 6:30 am to head to Denver. Yes, traffic was already an issue in Denver at 7:30 am on a Saturday. I am glad I don't have to put up with that all of the time. However, the morning commute was a breeze compared to the trip back in the afternoon. It was stop and go traffic as soon as I got on the interstate until I got past Mile High Stadium. It broke free for a while until we came to a complete stop. It was then stop and go for what seemed like forever. A car with a blown tire in a tight construction zone was the cause of the holdup.
I was scheduled to be the deacon at Mass in Fort Collins at 5:00 pm. Thankfully, I made it in time. After Mass, I was locking up the campus. Of course, there was a door that would not lock properly. I finally made it home just after 7:30 pm. This old guy doesn't handle 13 hour days too well any more.

It was an inspirational day. Being a member of the clergy brings many opportunities to grow and learn. There are times I worry about my response to these opportunities. To whom much is given... Yes, I have been given much. Is my life bearing abundant fruit?
There were a lot of deacons in one room.

We did not get many opportunities to get outside, but it was a beautiful day.
