My prayers are with Brittany Maynard and her family. Brittany has moved to Oregon to make use of the "Death With Dignity" law which permits physician-assisted suicide. At the age of 29 she is prepared to end her life due to brain cancer. According to a CNN article written by Brittany herself, she now has the medication in hand. Although Brittany did not list a specific date in her article, other articles have said she plans to end her life on November 1.
The articles written on the internet about her intention to end her life have been interesting, but not nearly as interesting as all the comments following the articles. Societal views on life and death are quite diverse. It is also obvious from many of the comments that their is a very little belief in God.
During "Respect Life" month, I simply pray for Brittany and others who are suffering serious illness. I also pray for the conversion of our nation and our world.
