I give you this tidbit of information from the Great American Roadtrip Forum. "At 3,300 feet (nearly 3/4 mile) long and 12 ft wide, the Coeur d'Alene Resort Floating Boardwalk is the longest floating boardwalk in the world and encircles the marina on Lake Coeur d'Alene."
So how do I connect this photo to the season of Lent?
Pondering. Pondering. Pondering.
Aha! I have something today.
Obviously, we could focus on water. Lent always points us in the direction of the sacraments of initiation at Easter. Water is used in the Sacrament of Baptism and this is a beautiful body of water in the photo.
However, the part that strikes me is the floating boardwalk encircling the marina. Do we get a sense of being wrapped in God's love just as this marina is encircled by the boardwalk? Do we feel protected?
Life presents more than a few challenges along the way. Here a few reflection questions for today.
Do you ever feel close to God? (Why or why not?)
Do you feel loved? (By whom?)
How does feeling loved (or unloved) impact the way you live?
Do you feel that you give love to others? (How?)
I pray that today you will feel encircled and wrapped in God's love, mercy, and compassion. If Jesus asked you the question today that he posed in Sacred Scripture, how would you respond? "What do you want me to do for you?"
