"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?  Can that faith save him?"  (James 2:14)

This is the third weekend of five consecutive weeks in which our second reading is taken from the Letter of St. James.  He definitely gives us something to ponder in regard to putting our faith into action.  Obviously, we are saved by God's grace , but that grace and the redeeming love of Jesus Christ should elicit a positive response from us.  We have been empowered with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and our life should thus reflect the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

My reflection question today is a simple one:

1. Are you living out the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy more effectively today than you were a year ago?  Do you see growth in your life?

Prayers are offered today for the women traveling from all across the state of Wyoming to Cheyenne for the Wyoming Council of Catholic Women State Convention which begins this evening.  Susan Conroy is the keynote speaker for the convention.  Susan has been a guest on EWTN and many people are acquainted with her work.  You can view some of her videos clips on the internet if you are unfamiliar with who she is.

I am humbled to share the speaking duties at the convention with Susan Conroy.  Since she is the keynote speaker and the famous person, the pressure is on her to set the tone for the event.  However, since I speak immediately after her tomorrow morning, I don't want deflate the room after she builds it up.  Offer a prayer that the Holy Spirit will be upon me and that I speak words which build up the Body of Christ.

This is going to be awesome week!  Give God the glory!
