It was a beautiful morning as we celebrated over 50 children receiving their First Holy Communion. This is always a wonderful celebration in any parish, but I am especially grateful for the one-time opportunity to share in this experience at St. Francis by the Sea.
Even at my age I still remember my First Holy Communion at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe, Missouri. It was a blessing to be raised in a wonderful faith community such as the one in Old Monroe.

Next up--CONFIRMATION
I will finally meet Bishop Guglielmone tomorrow as we celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with more than 60 young people at St. Francis by the Sea. It makes for a full weekend having First Communion and Confirmation back-to-back. By the time Monday rolls around I will need a break. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a little longer because my calendar remains full for two more weeks. These are good times, and I am treasuring each moment.
