The beauty of creation certainly has the potential to lift our hearts and minds to God. I want to encourage you to take time to periodically focus on God’s handiwork. The demands of life may weigh heavily upon us. Unfortunately, this can result in us missing the good which also surrounds us. One does not have to be in the Rocky Mountains or on the beach in the Caribbean to enjoy the wonders of creation—although it doesn’t hurt. Today, I find beauty in the melting snow here in Cheyenne. Come on summer!
Glacier National Park was established as a park on May 11, 1910. The fact sheet from the National Park Service provides some interesting data. “There are a total of 1,012,837 acres in the park with 175 different mountains. Mount Cleveland is the highest mountain at 10,448 feet. There are a total of 762 lakes in the park in which 131 have names and 631 are left unnamed. There are 25,622 acres just in the named lakes alone. The largest lake, Lake McDonald, comprises 6,823 acres and is 464 feet deep. There are 2,865 miles of streams inside the park. Finally, there are 25 named glaciers in the park.” Glacier National Park is truly majestic!
