The early morning skies were a mix of clouds and beams of light as the sun slowly made its presence known gently above the horizon. I sat on the porch and watched patiently for the glow of the sun to appear in all its glory. As it finally blanketed the prairie with fresh light I felt a sense of joy and hope in regard to the limitless possibilities of the day. How would I encounter God’s grace today?
Praying for the virtue of hope has been more specifically on my radar recently. Watching the news covering local and world events can easily lead to discouragement. The stock market declines and our retirement accounts follow in like fashion. In the fight for whose lives matter, more and more people are killed. The atrocities against humanity in the Middle East continue. Our own government gives Planned Parenthood more of our tax dollars even after the horrendous revelations from the videos provided by the Center for Medical Progress. We need hope for a better world.
“Say to those whose hearts are frightened: Be strong, fear not! Here is your God. He comes with vindication; with divine recompense he comes to save you.”
(Isaiah 35:4)
