~ Lou Holtz
"Catholic Twitter" is an interesting place. Arguments are frequent in regard to whether or not you are trad enough. Where is a good place to find a Latin Mass? Is anything since Vatican II valid? Which theologian entered into heresy today? On and on it goes.
On the other hand, many people use "Catholic Twitter" to seek prayers when they are struggling. I am truly uplifted by the abundance of support people can find on this social media platform (which is usually less than uplifting and holy). It has also increased my awareness about the level of despair many people are experiencing. The mental, emotional, and spiritual health of our people seems to be in serious need of healing. Societal shutdown, and all the accompanying acts of oppression that went along with it, has taken a toll on people all across the land. We ignore these signs at our own peril.
Today, I simply want to offer a word of encouragement to all who are carrying a heavy load. I pray that you find the strength and courage you need to face the challenges confronting you. May the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the communion, fellowship, and power of the Holy Spirit be with you!
