Many parishes have extra opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation this week. I would encourage you to take advantage of receiving this beautiful gift of forgiveness and healing.
Please make plans to participate in the Paschal Triduum. Holy Thursday is one of the most profound liturgies of the year. Everything flows from the Eucharist. Everything flows back to the Eucharist. Holy Thursday reminds us quite powerfully of the grace and blessings that flow from this sacrament.
Good Friday is a quiet day to reflect on the passion and death of Our Lord. This is the only day of the year we do not celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We are experiencing the emptiness that comes with Christ's passion and death.
This silence and somber reality continues with us throughout the day on Holy Saturday until we reach the point of the Great Easter Vigil. Then we celebrate! Christ Our Light has arisen!
This week will bring immense graces to each of us if we allow ourselves to enter fully into the mystery of our faith. Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. How does this reality shape our faith?
