Our approach to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving may vary for each of us. However, I would like to give us a joint project for the next ten days. Leading up to Holy Thursday, let us prayerfully read chapter six (6) of John's Gospel each day. (If the whole chapter is too long for you, read from verse 35 until the end of the chapter.) Ten days starting on Monday:
April 4--Monday
April 5--Tuesday
April 6--Wednesday
April 7--Thursday
April 8--Friday
April 9--Saturday
April 10--Sunday
April 11--Monday
April 12--Tuesday
April 13--Wednesday
April 14 is Holy Thursday. In preparation for the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Thursday evening, I invite you to read paragraph 1345 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church during the day. I suggest that you read it slowly and prayerfully. Ponder the fact that the passage from Justin the Martyr was written around the year 155 AD. How closely does it match what we do today?
