~John Greenleaf Whittier
People who faithfully follow their particular sports teams can become disheartened during a losing season. Second guessing the coaching staff or the front office personnel has become quite a pasttime. Although millions of dollars are involved in these endeavors, I frequently remind myself that we are still talking about a GAME.
Our spiritual journey in this life is not a game. When we reach the end of our days here on earth, will we be satisfied with how we lived the days entrusted to us? Will there be regrets? My challenge to you today is a simple reminder that you are called to be a saint. Will you accept the invitation? Please don't wait until the end of your life before pursuing sanctity. Start today. Don't reach the end of your days only to echo the words of John Greenleaf Whittier, "It might have been."
