LIFECHOICE PREGNANCY CENTER in Cheyenne, Wyoming will be hosting their annual banquet on Thursday, April 23, 2015. The theme for the night is Let Your Light Shine. This is based on Matthew's Gospel chapter five verses 15 and 16. "Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
The challenges of building and sustaining a culture of life in modern society are immense. We struggle to maintain unity even among churches regarding some of the most basic issues. There was a time when most Christian churches would have worked in agreement toward preserving the life of the unborn child. That is no longer the case. Last month a church in New Orleans welcomed Planned Parenthood into their church and gave a platform to the organization to spread their message. Several months ago another church in Kansas hosted a fundraiser for the abortion giant. What has happened to the fundamental principles in our churches regarding the sanctity, dignity, and value of each human life? When did we stop believing in the Sacred Scriptures? Do we no longer believe that God knew us before we were formed in the womb?
I am grateful for the opportunity to give the closing benediction at the banquet. It is important that we continue to be faithful witnesses and to provide the necessary resources to all those who find themselves in difficult circumstances.
