If the mainstream media would focus a little bit of attention on all of the people reaching out to others in a spirit of love and compassion rather than pushing a particular agenda geared toward death and destruction, I think we would be amazed at the shift that would take place in our culture. However, several hundred people gathered together yesterday evening, donated thousands of dollars to help those in need, and I did not notice a single media outlet present to cover the event. Could it be that this type of gathering simply doesn't fit into a desired narrative?
The political environment in our country, propelled by billionaires pushing their own agendas, determine which causes will be promoted and which ones will be persecuted. The case of David Daleiden is a prime example. Tolerance is expected for every group except Christians. We are told to keep our faith and beliefs tightly wrapped up in our homes and in our churches and not let it overflow into the communities around us. We simply cannot do that. We are called to be witnesses of Jesus Christ in season and out of season.
Although most of the residents of the City of Cheyenne will not know about the events of last night, a positive impact was made because Christians from a multitude of denominations came together to build a culture of life. The media may choose not to cover such events, but we will not hide our light under a bushel basket. We will continue to shine the Light of Christ for all to see. Eventually, that light will spread and shine so brightly that there will be no possible way to conceal the rays.
