This weekend we will hear the Gospel story of "The Good Samaritan." Jesus tells the story about a man falling victim to robbers as he went from Jerusalem to Jericho. He then describes a priest, a Levite, and a Samaritan encountering the victim along the road. After sharing that the priest and the Levite just kept on passing by without stopping to help, Jesus goes into detail about how the Samaritan cared for the victim. Jesus then asks the scholar of the law, "Which of these three, in your opinion, was NEIGHBOR to the robbers' victim?" The scholar of the law answered, "The one who treated him with mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
Who will we lift up each day by our acts of mercy?
Have a blessed weekend!
