It is hard to believe that twenty years have passed since being ordained a deacon in the Cathedral Basilica of St Louis by Archbishop (now Cardinal) Rigali.  I went to school an additional year after ordination and have now been working full time for the Church in one capacity or another for nineteen years.  It has been quite the journey.

I have ministered in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Missouri, the Diocese of Pueblo, Colorado, the Diocese of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the Diocese of Charleston, South Carolina.  I will soon add the Diocese of Des Moines, Iowa to that list as well.  Nearly nine years of my ministry took place in the Diocese of Cheyenne.  Thus, I have the most memories (and the most photographs) from that time period.  I am grateful to my former colleague for providing those photographs through the years.  They are great memories.

My family has sacrificed a great deal through the years to allow me to do the ministry I do.  I have been gone from home a lot through the last 25 years--first for formation and then for ministry.  Click on the tab at the top of this page "Retreats and Parish Missions" to see all the places that I have been for preaching and teaching.  Those locations represent time away from home.  I am grateful for the sacrifices that Margaret and the kids have made which has made all of this possible.

As we prepare for another transition in ministry, please keep us in your prayers.  May each of us be "clothed with power from on high" as the Easter season draws to a close and brings us to the great Feast of Pentecost!

Congratulations on 20 years! You have been a faithful servant and inspiration to many (myself included) through your ministry. Thank you for that. I'm honored to be included as one of your "awesome teammates." We really were a great group! God bless you in Iowa and beyond. Praying for you and Margaret during another transition.

Congrats on 20 years! Thank you for your “yes” and steadfast faith and devotion to the Church. I’m grateful for the short time our paths crossed working in ministry.
