I have had the privilege of leading the RCIA Retreat in Cheyenne since 2011. We typically have this retreat on the Saturday before Ash Wednesday unless other conflicts arise. Then we move it to the Saturday after Ash Wednesday. It is an amazing gathering each year as we launch into the Lenten season with gusto. All three parishes from Cheyenne now come together for this retreat.
The RCIA team members and sponsors join the catechumens and candidates for the retreat if they are able. This creates a wonderful atmosphere in which we can all share a particular experience together in the pursuit of purification and enlightenment by God's grace and the power of the Holy Spirit. The impact of this annual gathering never ceases to amaze me. I am blessed to be part of such a marvelous encounter with God.
I want to thank the leadership of St. Joseph's Parish for providing such wonderful hospitality each year. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated. We enjoyed plenty of food and fellowship in addition to the prayer and reflection. Today was an awesome day!
