It is with great joy that the Diocese of Cheyenne received the news that our Holy Father, Pope Francis, announced in Rome today, the appointment of The Most Reverend Steven Biegler as the Ninth Bishop of Cheyenne.
Bishop-elect Biegler, 57, is pastor of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, South Dakota. Bishop-elect Biegler is also the Vicar General for the Diocese of Rapid City.
The Installation Mass will be held June 5, 2017. Welcome Bishop-elect Biegler!
I had the opportunity to visit with the bishop-elect this morning prior to his 10:00 A.M. press conference. I am excited for the Diocese of Cheyenne. My first impression is that we have been blessed by this appointment. Please keep Bishop-elect Biegler in your prayers as he makes this major transition in his life.
