While my wife and I are not looking forward to the actual process of moving again, we are looking forward to being closer to family. Council Bluffs puts us midway in between St. Louis and Cheyenne, our two focal points where family members are located. A few people commented yesterday on social media reminding me of the difference between the sandy beaches of Hilton Head Island and the snowfall of Iowa. All I can say is that I hope the wind is not as strong in Council Bluffs as it was when we lived in Cheyenne. I will just have to chuckle each winter when I see the meme featuring a guy shoveling deep snow and muttering, "At least we don't have hurricanes."
If you have not already seen the press release from the Diocese of Des Moines announcing my appointment, you can see that here:

Please pray for St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church and St. Albert Catholic Schools and all whose lives are impacted by these transitions. May we each continue to build the Kingdom of God!
