What Are The Things We Celebrate In Life?

Las Vegas celebrates many things.  The immorality present has been well-documented throughout the history of the gambling paradise.  However, I will admit that I was quite surprised when I walked by this building and saw the banner advertising The Mob Museum.  I didn't go in the building.  Seeing the banner across the walkway and the American flag flying prominently behind it was enough of an adventure in itself.

There are times when I feel overwhelmed by the many social problems our world is experiencing.  Christians being killed in the Middle East; Planned Parenthood is killing babies and selling the body parts; politicians are breaking procedural rules or even laws and suffering no consequences; bakers are being sued for not baking a cake for a same-sex wedding; a clerk goes to jail without bail for not issuing a marriage license to a same-sex couple; finally, all viewpoints seem to be looked upon with a great deal of tolerance unless it is a Christian viewpoint.  It can be quite disheartening.

How do we as individuals make a difference in our world?  We make a difference by being faithful day in and day out to the teachings of Jesus Christ. If enough of us live out the commandments to love God and love neighbor, we can and will make a difference.  It requires some serious soul-searching on our part.  Are we seriously striving to live saintly lives?  Look at what you celebrate in your home.  Does it reflect the goodness of God?
