What does it mean for us to participate in the Eucharist? Is it something we take for granted, or do we really cherish the opportunity? I was reminded of the value of the Eucharist by my mom just weeks before she died. She told me that she missed being able to go to Mass on a regular basis once she moved into the nursing home. They only had Mass once a month at the nursing home and many times she wasn't well enough physically to travel to the local parish. Even at 91 years of age she was still being a parent and trying to guide me in the ways of faith.
Do you need a renewal in regard to your fervor of participation at the Eucharistic liturgy? If so, I would recommend that you take out your Bible and read John's Gospel chapter six nice and slowly. Prayerfully meditate on the words and allow God to touch your heart.
