To my diaconate classmates and spouses: I wish we could be there to celebrate with you this evening. Please know we will be with you in spirit.
My diaconate class is getting together this evening in St. Louis to celebrate our upcoming 20th anniversary as deacons. (We were ordained on June 5, 1999). Unfortunately, Margaret and I will not be able to make the trip to St. Louis. We are both still working at our current jobs, trying to pack for our move which takes place two weeks from today, and I am preaching this weekend as part of my farewell to the people here at St. Francis by the Sea. To my diaconate classmates and spouses: I wish we could be there to celebrate with you this evening. Please know we will be with you in spirit. I think we may have aged a bit since this photo was taken. (At least I have--maybe Margaret has not!)
